We invite you to join our 2008-2009 Annual New Year’s Tour to London, a beloved MTC tradition in one of the world’s most exciting theatre cities. This year’s trip will take place Sunday, December 28, 2008 through Sunday, January 4, 2009.
Join us as we survey the very best theatre and cultural events London has to offer. Our expert guides will give you an insider’s view of London’s theatrical, cultural and political landscape. Plus, you’ll enjoy exclusive visits with guest artists and speakers, all designed to give new insights and fresh perspectives to even the most seasoned theatergoers.
The itinerary, which features seven productions in all, includes Twelfth Night at Wyndham’s Theatre and may include both Gone with the Wind by Margaret Martin and directed by Trevor Nunn at the New London Theatre and Ikrismas Kherol directed by Mark Dorford-May and performed by the South African ensemble Isango Portobello, as well as productions at the Menier Chocolate Factory, The National Theatre and The Almeida. As is customary with MTC’s Cultural Tours, we’ve been sure to schedule plenty of free time, giving you the freedom to explore the city’s sights and shops at your own pace. And we’ll welcome the New Year with a celebratory New Year’s Eve dinner and a gala New Year’s Day concert.
The cost is $5,700* per person, inclusive of hotel stay, private transportation throughout (transportation to/from airport not included), all performance tickets, daily breakfast, New Year’s Eve Dinner, a visit to the Saatchi Gallery, and seven private discussions with leading political journalists, theatre professionals and more. The cost also includes a $500 tax-deductible contribution to Manhattan Theatre Club.
