Subscriber Frequently Asked Questions

What is your performance schedule and does it ever change?
The current MTC performance schedule is Tuesday through Sunday with matinee performances on Saturdays and Sundays for Stage I, Stage II and at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. This schedule changes during holiday weeks. With the exception of these holiday weeks, MTC does not schedule performances on Mondays at the Friedman or at NY City Center. There are weeks when there are no Sunday evening performances at the Friedman and on Stage I, these weeks have Wednesday matinee performances.
When exchanging tickets by fax, why must I tear them first?

A torn ticket ensures that the ticket will not be used for that performance and eliminates double seating problems. Please do not tear tickets on the perforation as this does not ensure that the ticket is destroyed.

Why must I make an exchange two business days prior to the performance?

Because, unlike some theatres, MTC houses their performance spaces and offices in separate locations, the ticketing software for the Friedman and NY City Center is not directly linked to the ticketing software at the MTC Administrative Offices. Therefore, we need at least two days to release the tickets and send them to the ticket offices at the Friedman and NY City Center so that they then may be made available for sale. MTC strives to ensure a positive and supportive environment for its actors as well as audience members and if we do not receive advance notice of an exchange, the seats may not be filled and empty seats are discouraging to everyone involved, particularly the performers.

What happens if I can’t make the two business day deadline?

If you do inform us that you are unable to attend the theatre and it is less than the two business day time frame, we can send you a tax credit for the cost of your tickets. This will enable you to claim your unused tickets as a tax deductible contribution to MTC.

What if I want to see a MTC show that is not part of my package?

Amongst many other benefits, MTC subscribers are offered the option of purchasing additional tickets to any of our shows at a discounted rate, pending availability. Just call the subscriber hotline number (212)399-3030 Monday - Friday from 12pm-8pm to purchase these additional tickets for friends and family.

How does MTC accommodate someone with special needs?

MTC strives to make our vibrant, up-and-coming works available to everyone. Therefore, anyone attending one of our shows may access our stages using the elevator located just to the left of the main door at NY City Center and to the right of the main door at the Friedman. When reserving your subscription, making an exchange, or purchasing additional tickets, please let us know whatever special needs we need to accommodate in order to make your theatre experience as relaxing and pleasant as possible. For those who are hearing impaired, an infrared hearing device system is installed in all theatres. Please see an usher if you will need a headset.

How do I know when I can exchange my tickets for a specific show?

Tucked inside your Subscriber Handbook is a Subscriber Schedule card which lists all scheduled information regarding dates of show, dates for exchanges and when you can purchase additional tickets
